The American People Asked For This Crap?

Dear Friend,
Over the past year, I have heard from thousands of Nevadans on health care reform, some urging immediate action and others expressing concern. Many of you have requested updates on what is really going on with health care reform in the U.S. Senate, so I have created this e-mail newsletter to help address your questions and concerns. I hope you find this information helpful.
For more information on my work in the Senate, I encourage you to visit my webpage, reid.senate.gov, or sign up for my general e-mail newsletter, The Reid Report.
Sincerely,
HARRY REID
U.S. Senator for Nevada

LAST WEEK IN THE SENATE
The American people and President Obama asked Congress for a health insurance reform plan that makes health care affordable for every American and does so in a fiscally responsible way. I am proud to report that last week I unveiled the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which does just that. This bill will save lives, save money, and save Medicare.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the Senate’s health care reform proposal will extend coverage to more than 98 percent of Americans, reduce the rolls of the uninsured by 31 million people, and do so without adding a dime to the deficit. The CBO reports the Senate bill will cut the deficit by nearly $130 billion in the first ten years and by as much as three-quarters of a trillion dollars in the first twenty.
These numbers are as impressive as they are important to our nation’s future. And although I am proud of these figures, we can’t afford to overlook what this is really about. This is about the parent who cannot take a child to the doctor because insurance is too expensive. This is about the small business that has had to lay off employees because it couldn’t afford skyrocketing health care premiums. This is about the 518,000 Nevadans who are without health insurance.
This weekend, the Senate voted to move to debate the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Over the next month, Congress will consider changes and improvements to this bill on the the Senate floor. But the central message is clear: this legislation makes it more affordable for every Nevadan to live a healthy life and does so in a fiscally responsible way that helps our economy recover. If the Health Care Bill is not Bad Enough Take a Look at this Piece of S@*%

What’s Wrong With this Picture?

Tell me how a $1.2 Trillion health care bill is affordable health care. This is obviously a mistake on the part of the leaders of this country of either party. Oh that’s right we only have a 1 party system now so that can’t be right.

Affordable Health Care For Americans Act

Affordable Health Care For Americans Act

36 million more americans will have heath insurance for the cost of $1.2 Trillion or $33,333.00 per insured. Then let’s not forget the 111 new government agencies it is going to take to distribute the $1.2 Trillion bucks. Now that s what I call affordable health care I can’t afford.

Read My Lips

Yea, I know, it was Bush and not Obama who said the infamous “read my lips” but it seems to apply here.

There will be no cuts to Medicare or Medicaid with Universal Heath Care. Gee what is this then….$426 billion in Medicare and Medicaid cuts in the House bill-about the same as in the Senate bill. OK so we have to cut the fat out of Medicare and Medicaid two more government heath care initiatives.

Hey what about all that H1N1 vaccine we are going to have all 120 million doses. Well that came out to about 16,000 doses. And we have committed to the WHO to give some of that away.

If you think this president, this congress or this government in general can manage a Universal Health Care plan then I want the drugs you’re on.

Oh yea, there was not supposed to any new taxes to fund this crap either:

“The bill is funded largely from a 5.4 percent tax on individuals making more than $500,000 a year and couples making more than $1 million, starting in 2011. The tax increase would hit only 0.3 percent of tax filers, raising $460.5 billion over the next 10 years, according to congressional estimates.” Health care plan hits rich with big tax increases

And here is where all this is headed:

Alistair Darling has announced a new top tax rate of 50% for those earning more than £150,000 from next April.”
